Project Summery

The project is implemented in Tunisia, Egypt, and Lebanon in partnership with two French NGOs experienced in capacity building services and professional support. FEM aims to improve women’s economic conditions and develop their income-generating capacity through self-employment thanks to micro-enterprise, as well as strengthening the capacities of the partner institutions that are in direct relationship with the women concerned. FEM activities range from providing training trainers of trainers (the latter being staff of the partner organisations), conducting studies of new lines of business, especially at macro level, providing business development services to micro-entrepreneurs including business diagnosis and related advice, providing support for marketing and supplies, organising training sessions, theme-based discussion groups and exchange of knowledge and best practices between micro-entrepreneurs, setting up a trade network aimed at selling products from micro-entrepreneurs in the southern Mediterranean to consumers in Europe.
