gender Training courses organized by Le Monde selon les femmes (World according to women)

Seminar on National Women Machineries, 13-14 June

The EUROMED programme RWEL convened a two days seminar on National Women Machineries in the MEDA region on 13-14 June held in Cairo. The seminar was attended by representatives of National Women Machineries from 10 MEDA coutries, leading women NGOs, researchers involved in the studies on National Women Machineries as well as some donor agencies and gender experts. During the seminar, partcipants descussed the study findings, and reached recommendatiuons. For more details, you can dowloads the seminar report in English or Arabic.

The Global Summit for Women 2007, Berlin

The summit will be held from June 14-16. This year theme is "The Global marketplace: Opportunties and Challenges".

The summit is the premier gathering of women leaders focusing on advancing womens' economic opportunties globally. Attendants are women decision makers in business and goverments from around the world. The summit represents an opportuntiy to share winning solutions and strategies and be part of a global network of economic dynamos. " Women Make a Difference", Cairo, May 31- June 2

This inspirational fundraisng event is organzied by CARE Egypt and is open to people from both gender, of any fitness level, of various backgrounds. It will invovle business people, journalists, university professors and other leaders of various nationlaities in the Egyptian community who wish to make a differecen in the lives of the underprivileged in Egypt. All funds collected during the event will bebefit Freedom From Violence project fighting violkence against wokne in Upper Egypt. Read more

The Second EOWEL partners meeting, Casablanca

During the Cairo meeting in June 2006 it was proposed to hold subsequent partner meetings in different countries in the region, preferably linked to EOWEL partners’ events, creating the opportunity for sharing and learning in practice. In consultation with our Moroccan partners we organized the second partners meeting from 5 - 8 March 2007 in Casablanca, Morocco.    Read More

Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference

The first EUROMED ministerial conference focussing on the role of women took place in Istanbul, Turkey on 14-15 November 2006. The conference engaged in taking concrete steps to achieve gender equality, prevent all forms of discrimination and to ensured the protection of the rights of women. on “Strengthening the role of women in society”.  Read more.

first EOWEL partners meeting

The first EOWEL partners meeting was held in Cairo from June 26-29 at the Conrad hotel and was attended by representatives from the European Commission, RWEL technical assistance team, a representative from the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies, and representatives from the 7 NGO consortiums responsible for the EOWEL projects. Read more.
